WHIT THREAD

“Whitworth” refers to the standard for screws proposed by Mr. Whitworth, a British individual, in 1841 and later adopted as the screw standard in the United Kingdom. The main difference between JIS standard metric threads and inch threads is that the thread angle is 55 degrees, and the dimensions are in inches.
