There are two main purposes for using haft thread. Firstly, as the valley diameter of the threaded part is smaller than the diameter of the bolt shaft, the threaded part is used only in the fastening section to increase strength. The second purpose is to compress the object and increase the fixation force. While regular bolts use the full thread as the standard, high-strength bolts typically and use haft thread portions as the standard
